On this Site Editions H&L |
This site is devoted to introduce you our publications relating to handguns such as the Luger and Colt pistols. But we did not chose to simply show you some book covers with a short summary, followed by a strong incitement to buy. We do prefer first of all that you make a tour of our site to discover its content. You will then be able to eventually consider a purchase at the light of your visit.
Your are here in the core of our didactic site which is divided in eight sections, of which, two are mostly devoted to those interested in Belgian particularities relating to firearms legislation and business. The whole site includes many topics relating to different kind of firearms, press review and bookstore.
The first section : "Avertissement" (Warning), is a clear message for those who promote violence as their favorite means of expression. THIS SITE IS NOT FOR THEM. They may to be cured anywhere ELSE. This site contents didactic, historical and technical data upon firearms, not a propaganda for their use or whatsoever relating to violence promotion.
The second section : "Un peu d'histoire" (A little bit of history), is an illustrated time line starting with flintlock pistols and ending with the first automatic pistols.
The third section : "Un peu de technique" (A little bit of technical), copes with fundamental and technical aspects like : the technical difference between pistols and revolvers, the way an automatic pistol functions and what is the particularity of a locked breech pistol. This later point is extensively explained through the Luger pistol example.
The fourth section : "La législation belge" (the Belgian legislation), presents the different aspects of firearms legal classification and the rules to follow for canditates to buying a firearm in Belgium.
The fith section : "Le Marché belge" (The Belgian Market), explains where to buy firearms and some details upon the existence and origin of various "black markets".
The sixth section : COLT (The Colt Pistols) , is entirely devoted to Colt pistols. This section was illustrated with drawings out of our book : Les Pistolets Colt - 100 ans de production (Colt Pistols - 100 years of production). This book is the second work of the Belgian author Gérard Henrotin. When he published his first book (La Connaissance du Luger) in 1996, it was the first time that a publication relating to firearms was entirely built up, using the new computer graphical technologies. The result was more than outstanding, particularly in the field of technical explanations. An aspect often overlooked as not readily explained through a traditional way of writing. As a result of the quality of their illustrations, our books can be read more easily than any other classical ones on the subject. Even if you don't practise French, be sure that the drawings will procure you a lot of satisfaction.
In this sixth section, you will find some 24 sub-divisions, dealing with the majority of Colt pistol models, each showing some relating drawings taken from the book (Don't miss the sub-division with the animation). For practical reasons, these drawings are compressed to activate the loading, and therefore lose a little bit of their definition and accuracy. The printed issue is naturally flawless. Take a tour in this section and if you are interested to buy this book, click here to know how to order.
The seventh section : LUGER (The Luger Pistols) is entirely devoted to Luger pistols. This section was illustrated with drawings out of our book : La connaissance du Luger (Focus on the Luger). When this book appeared on the market, in 1996, there was nothing alike. It remains the case today. Not only this book is beautiful, but it encompasses all what a reader interested in Luger pistols may ask for. Detailed functioning, including rare topics as unusual securities or full automatic implementation - Deep insight into the serialization mode - Sequential presentation of all the known models, with a particularly detailed and interesting chapter upon John V. Martz customized Luger - An extensive historical chapter introducing each Luger constructor with detailed data on their activities - Overview of the various commercial and military contracts - And many other interesting things. Visit this Luger section and if what you see make you happy, buy our book which probably will become very soon a true collector item. Click here to know how to order.
