Field dismounting of the Sten Mk II
Depress the magazine catch (red arrow)
and slide the magazine out of its housing.
Magazine removed
Press in the stud of the return spring
housing to clear the hole, and slide the butt down out of its slot.
Depress the spring cap, and rotate it
to the left until its retaining lugs align with the frame cuts (red arrow)
Ease out the spring cap, return spring
and housing.
Separate the return spring from its
housing
Separate the spring cap from the
spring housing
Pull the cocking handle until being at
the safety notch level
Rotate the cocking handle until it can
be pulled out of the breechblock
Remove the breechblock by the rear of
the frame
