Advanced dismounting of the Sten (I)
Pull back
the magazine housing plunger until the barrel nut catch (red arrow - BE9962) is fully
disengaged from the indented wheel (blue arrow), and allows the barrel assembly to be
freely unscrewed.
Unscrew the
barrel assembly.
Unscrew the
two retaining screws (one on each side) of the trigger mechanism cover.
Remove the
trigger mechanism cover.
Unhook the
trigger spring (3) forward end from the lower arm of the sear spring (6).
Unhook the
trigger spring (3) rear end from the trigger (10) hook.
Remove the
sear spring (6) from its pivot.
The frame
being upside down tilt the sear (5) frontward.
Lift the
tripping lever (8) and make its extremity bear against the frame edge.
Tilt the sear (5) back and remove the sear pivot pin (4).
Remove the
sear (5)
While holding the tripping lever (8) remove the trigger
pivot pin (7)
Remove the
trigger and tripping lever.
